Building community, one garden at a time
Above and below, A particularly large example of community gardening is the "Harvest Gardens" garden at County Road C and Hazelwood Street. First Evangelical Church purchased the former farming property to provide space for garden lovers to grow produce. The former Phil Oswald farm has now been in continuous cultivation for more than 40 years. (file photos)
With local food becoming a hotter commodity, community gardens have once again found their roots in Maplewood and North St. Paul neighborhoods.
